BOTH Presentation at BCC
Nat and I were asked by Jason Detrani, Film Department head at BCC, to give a presentation of our experience making "Blood of the Hog" to his advanced video class. The first semi-public screening of BOTH material! A momentous occasion..... well, sort of.
Screening one's work for the first time is always difficult. We were analyzing every little reaction of our audience. But you've got to take their reactions with a grain of salt when you screen rough cuts. It's easy to overreact to their reaction and then go down a useless thought path while editing the film. That's my opinion at least. I'm sure others would disagree.
The presentation went well. I actually learned a few things about Nat. His decision to go to film school occurred after he was hit by a taxi while working as a bike messenger in NYC!?! How could I NOT know that.
Even though it was exhilarating to screen edited scenes, we still have a bunch of work to do. Onto the editing!
